La Casa de Mayte

The white and blue decor was pleasant, and the hotel was well lit. Breakfast was simple, just bread and jam. There’s no elevator, so we had to carry our luggage up to the third floor. The older lady was unfriendly, though the younger staff were very helpful and carried our bags to the room.

My host Francisca really looked out for me as a solo traveler and gave me useful suggestions that helped me arrange things better. She also made a delicious, fluffy egg in the morning. I had an incredible five nights: the room was clean, the location was great, the shower was hot, and breakfast was hearty every morning. I recommend their paid laundry service. They handled it professionally, and it gave me peace of mind after a long trip.

Our room was comfortable and quiet, a welcome place to rest after busy days exploring. Casa de Mayte is also perfectly placed, just a short walk from the Plaza de Armas, restaurants, and local markets. The front desk team stood out: she was warm and attentive, and went out of her way to help us plan. When we set off on the 5-day Salkantay Trek, they happily kept our luggage secure. Excellent service and friendly staff. I highly recommend Casa de Mayte in Cusco.

The rooftop has great city views, and being only a few minutes' walk from the Plaza made it easy to reach the action while still having some quiet. I stayed four nights, and the rooms were nice and cozy. My only complaint was the drinks they sold, which were extremely overpriced when local shops on the same street had them for a fraction of the price. They did have free coca leaves to take.
