Samay Wasi Hostel I

We spent two weeks here, with a break in the middle for Salkantay. Our private room was clean and well kept. The hostel isn't the most social, but it has kitchen access and relaxed communal areas. It's well located in San Blas, close to lots of shops, bars, and restaurants, and the terrace has an AMAZING view over Cusco. The staff were lovely, especially James, who was kind and really helpful with arranging Sacred Valley tours. When we got sick, he also helped arrange a Clinic visit.

The beds were good, and it’s a nice place apart from a few issues. Water sometimes stopped running, and they charge 3% for card payments. Breakfast starts at 07:30, which was too late for most of my tours, so I only got to eat it on one of my three mornings. At reception, an older man seemed almost annoyed when I arrived and didn’t introduce himself or explain anything. The other receptionists weren’t very expressive either, even when I spoke Spanish to them.

The view of Cusco from upstairs was impressive, and breakfast was good. The staff were friendly, and the local cat was a nice bonus. My room was a good size, very clean, and had a comfortable bed. The shower was excellent, with warm water and great pressure. Great value for the quality of the stay at Samay Wasi.

The reception team gave me helpful tips for everything, and the cooks made a delicious breakfast. I slept well because the hostel was quiet, and the beds were comfortable. I really recommend staying here. Thank you!
