San Agustin Plaza

Breakfast is included, lovely, and starts at 4AM. The restaurant and bar service is good too, and the location is great. They don’t provide complimentary bottles of water, and buying water at the hotel is too expensive. The area can also be a bit noisy on weekends.

The included breakfast was great, though the coffee was coffee extract that needed hot water added before it was drinkable. The hotel is right in the heart of Cusco, just outside the old town center, with everything conveniently within walking distance. The area felt super safe. One thing I didn’t like was the rule against having guests in the room. They will allow it if guests check in and go through a whole process. I’ve only encountered this problem in this country, but it isn’t unique to this hotel. It seems to be pretty much everywhere in Peru.

The staff are super friendly and the location is great, but the hotel needs a facelift. I’m staying here because of the tour, otherwise I’d move out. We’re on the second floor, as is the kitchen and dining room, and you can smell the oil. The hallway carpet is very dirty and looks like it hasn’t been shampooed in years. The bathroom is small but clean, and the beds are okay. If you’re on a budget, this could be your hotel, but it isn’t for me.
