Tinki Hostel

We had a very comfortable, cozy private space at the top of the hostel, reached through the same entrance but completely separate from the hostel itself. It was a double room with two rooms, a private bathroom, and a balcony that was almost like a private rooftop. The space was comfortable and nicely arranged. The host was attentive and helpful, welcomed us warmly, and did everything possible to make us happy. I can’t comment on the shared hostel rooms because we didn’t stay in them, but the private area I’ve described was very comfortable and in good taste.

The room was spacious, and there’s a sink for washing clothes. The location is the best part, especially for the price. They accept pets, and let us use the kitchen for quick, basic meals. The internet signal is very weak. The shower wasn’t hot, and the owner got annoyed when we tried to run it for more than five minutes while waiting for the water to warm up. To get hot water, you have to turn the tap on just a little and wait, which can take a while. It’s a family home, so things get busy early and you hear all the activity. Several other people live there too. Beside our room was an elderly woman in very poor health. That was our experience over three nights.

I spent a few vacation days in Cusco and recommend this hostel. It’s excellent value for money, with comfortable, clean beds and very friendly staff. The location is ideal, just three minutes from the Plaza Mayor.

A clean, quiet hostel close to central Cusco, with a lovely owner. Great stay, and 100% recommended if you want to avoid hostels packed with tourists, haha.
