Velvet Residence Cusco Hotel

We paid for breakfast boxes to take on our tours, but they were never ready on time, even though we gave the exact pickup and departure time each day. One morning we left without breakfast because they hadn’t even started preparing it when we came down. We also asked during the day for clean towels to replace the ones in our room, but they didn’t change them at all. It felt so disrespectful. We definitely won’t stay again.

This place offers great value for the quality and location, with a 40% discount for longer stays. The hotel has spotless rooms, Netflix in both private rooms and common areas, and a nice breakfast buffet. The staff were exceptional, always friendly, approachable, and genuinely helpful. Two large supermarkets are three minutes away on foot; there’s a local park with good restaurants nearby, and a huge local market about 10 minutes away with most daily necessities at excellent prices. It’s also an easy, pleasant walk to the historical center. Great for a few days or a few weeks, and I can’t recommend it enough!

The staff were the best part of my stay at Velvet Residence in Cusco. They were friendly and consistently gave excellent service. I was there in June 2024. My room was spacious, with a nice, comfortable bed, but it was cold and there was no heating, which made things uncomfortable. Breakfast tasted good, though it was the same every morning and I would have liked more variety. A decent stay, with a few things that could be better.

The rooms were nice and the staff very friendly, but in rooms 205 and 207 the hard foam pillows were a problem. I had to come up with another pillow arrangement for the kids. Sleeping was impossible because of constant very early noise, slamming doors, and lights switching on and off.
