Churup Mountain Lodge

The food was absolutely fantastic, and after a long hike it was great to come back to large, comfortable, very clean rooms. The lodge has gorgeous mountain views and a quiet, serene setting. Our host, Stefan, was the highlight. He made us feel welcome even though we arrived late in the evening, and went out of his way to make sure we had a wonderful trip. He helped arrange transport to hiking trails and excursions, picked up supplies in town, and gave spot-on recommendations.

We loved having a woodfire stove in our room, and my wife enjoyed cooking in the kitchen, which had every kind of cookware you could imagine. The location is ideal if you want to stay away from the big cities and set off on treks in the Sierra Blanca. It was a flawless, amazing stay, the best accommodation I've come across on our first months-long trip in Peru.

Eva was awesome and gave us useful tips for hiking tours. We had a great stay, the room was cozy with its own oven, and the food was very good. It would be nice to have some hammocks or daybeds outside for relaxing after a hike.

We stayed six nights and used the lodge as a base for day hikes, bike rides, and exploring the Cordillera Blanca. The staff were exceptional, sharing tips for each day's activities, tailoring meals, and helping with much more. The food was delicious, and small wood stoves kept the rooms cozy and warm. It's a unique, beautiful lodge in the heart of the Andes. The rooms, common areas, and grounds are pristinely maintained. Thanks for an amazing stay. Hope to be back!
