We chose Dos de Mayo for our honeymoon because we wanted a small local hotel instead of a chain like the ones back home in the United States. The rooms are on the small side, but pleasant and perfectly adequate for a short visit. Service was fantastic: we were welcomed warmly, got patient answers to all our questions as English speakers, and the front desk gentleman even called a local attraction to book a reservation after we’d only asked for directions. Breakfast was decent, especially since it’s included. You can walk to several places around Miraflores if you’re happy exploring on foot. I’d happily stay again.

The hotel itself was very nice, but please be careful in this area. While I was standing on the road right outside during the day waiting for a taxi, someone local on a motorbike grabbed my iPhone and sped off.

Had a great stay. Just make sure you have the exact address before heading out, since maps show several El Tambo locations and it’s easy to end up at the wrong one.

The bed was extremely comfortable, and the continental breakfast was okay. The shower is tiny, some of the staff weren’t very friendly, and they charged me an extra $20 when a friend came to visit in my room. That felt ridiculous.

Good location and service, with decent Wi-Fi and a comfortable room. The shower temperature kept changing. Breakfast could be better too, since there wasn’t much choice of bread or anything to go with it.
