The location was amazing, the rooms looked great, and breakfast was good. But the stay was mixed, and I really wanted to love the place. The lighting was very cold and fluorescent, with an annoying flicker, so they badly need warmer lights. Finding the hotel was a bit of a saga. I looked around for minutes, asked a nice guy at the Claro store and he didn’t know either, so we searched together. Eventually we spotted it next door. I uploaded a photo in case you get lost too. Two big warnings: the wifi was shocking and didn’t work for about half my stay. Mobile data coverage in Huaraz is poor, so if you need to stay connected, look elsewhere. Also, it was really loud outside 24/7. I wasn’t facing the street, but some nearby bar or house blasted music all night. If you can’t sleep through loud noise, this might not be the best place for you.

We had an okay stay for two nights. The room was large and had a big window, but the pillows were so hard and uncomfortable that we didn’t use them, and the TV wouldn’t turn on. Breakfast wasn’t very filling: it came with eggs, juice, coffee or tea, and bread, but the bread was small and hard. Parking was another issue. There’s no safe parking in this city at all, and the only public garage in the centre is right behind the hotel. It was very hard to get into and full throughout our visit.

The room was clean and the service excellent, especially for a price that isn’t expensive. At night, though, music from the casino next door was the one weak point.
