Fundo Hotel El Arrabal

The estate has a lot of potential, but it seemed neglected and under-maintained. Rotting mangoes and dates were still on the trees, and there wasn’t much sign that the agricultural side was being actively managed. My overall impression was that Fundo Hotel El Arrabal is set up mainly for large bus groups passing through for quick pisco tastings. Overnight guests seemed like an afterthought. Service during our three nights was practically nonexistent. I only dealt with staff at check-in and checkout. Nobody responded to several requests for service at the bar, and no one came to the pool to offer drinks or food. There was no proactive or responsive service at all. Our room was never cleaned. We didn’t get fresh towels, the trash stayed in the room, and toilet paper wasn’t replenished. The bungalow had two rooms, but only one had air conditioning. It worked briefly when we arrived and seemed to stop by the evening of the first day, possibly because of a refrigerant problem. The other room had just one desk fan, and neither ceiling fan worked. One was missing its blades. The A/C looked decades old, its remote didn’t work, and several buttons on the unit were worn or broken, so we couldn’t control it. The nights were uncomfortably hot. Breakfast was very limited and tightly controlled. The usual choice was an egg or half an avocado, with anything extra costing more. The bread was basic, and they charged us 2 soles at checkout for one extra roll. That felt unusually inflexible.
