Hostal Paracas I

Good value if you're passing through town, especially if you're heading to Huacachina. It's well located, with markets and restaurants close enough to reach on foot, and it's easy to get a tuktuk to other places.

I picked this place because we only needed somewhere cheap to sleep between tours, but that was a bad call. The room was sauna-hot, the fan made a lot of noise, and the hot shower tap got horribly hot.

I had a terrible stay, even though I'd stayed here before. The receptionists offended me and showed no empathy. When I arrived, they didn't give me a key or the remote, then the next day said it was because I'd come in drunk. They blamed me for not asking for them and said it wasn't their problem. The receptionists were incapable, though the boy was friendly. The TV's manual buttons were broken and the shower handles were in terrible shape. They also overcharged me, saying I'd gone past my stay time. They should tell guests the prices when they arrive and keep the place lit, especially if they claim someone came in dizzy. I wanted to extend my stay, but they tried to charge me half of what I'd already paid. Basically, they threw me out and blamed me for not getting a key or remote.

The staff were really friendly, and the service was excellent. It's centrally located too. 😌
