Hostería Suiza

Henry helped me check in and carried my bags up to the second floor. Since I had an early tour, he even arranged for breakfast an hour earlier, which I really appreciated. I arrived while they were putting up beautiful holiday decorations. It’s a lovely hotel in a nice location. My room was clean, and I had hot water throughout my stay. I had an amazing time here. Thanks to all the staff for a lovely stay, and happy holidays :)

This place was a disgusting mess. It stank of sewage, and I felt dirty when I left. It’s a hostel, not a hotel. If you can afford a trip to this area, you can afford to stay somewhere else and keep your self-respect. Gross. It seems tour organizers use it to maximize their profit.

Avoid! It felt like one of the biggest scams I’ve experienced, and this is nowhere near three stars. The room smelled moldy, the ceiling was coming apart, and the curtains had dirty stains that looked like blood. Flies were all over the breakfast food. Do not stay!

The bed was reasonably comfortable, and the fan was the only cooling. The front desk staff seemed uninterested. The new toilet seat wasn’t installed properly and slid sideways. I could’ve reported it right away, but didn’t think they’d care or be able to fix it. I prepared a translated note for checkout, but there was nobody at the front desk. The only redeeming thing about the hotel is its location at the “quiet” end of town. The town itself is pretty much the Wild West, with sandboarders and sand skiers everywhere. Fun, though it helps to be younger!
