The event package deals aren't worth the money. I paid quite a lot for a New Year's package that included a New Year's Eve party and extras, and maybe that set my expectations too high. Still, there were only two electrical outlets in the room, and one didn't work. There was no water at breakfast until I asked for some. The hotel bar gave me the wrong product, and I had to ask for my change back. The rooms are huge, but the shower water swung between cold and scalding. The staff were friendly, though slow and not very service oriented, and none of them spoke English. The Wi-Fi was a catastrophe. There was also loud partying outside for three nights in a row until 2 or 3 a.m. The windows weren't soundproof, and the bass nearly tore the glass apart.

I loved this place as a kid and plan to come back with my wife in the near future. But those photos of dirty tables and beds don't help the hotel at all. Seriously, too much corona in Peru? Have people lost all common sense?

I've been coming here since I was a toddler, when it was Hotel de Turistas, and my parents always brought me. It's now called Real Ica. This place is a real gem with roots in Ica, and it keeps improving. The pools have been renovated, too. I've slept in every type of room, and they've all been spacious, neat, and very clean. I'm fussy and careful about cleanliness, from the sheets, bed, and towels to the room itself, and I'm also cautious about personal safety. I have no complaints and will definitely return!
