Hotel Golden Star

My fiance booked this hotel, and the room was small but laid out well. It was usually kept clean, but one day we returned from an outing to find the bed unmade, no clean towels, and the room still dirty. At the desk, they said the cleaner had gotten sick and couldn't finish. I was upset and asked for fresh sheets and towels. The same thing happened again, with no fresh towel and an uncleaned shower. I wondered why nobody else could finish the cleaning. There was also loud music from a nearby cultural center, where students sang and practiced instruments. At 7 a.m., that wasn't what I wanted to hear. Breakfast was the same every day: one egg, bread, coffee, and papaya juice. I'd have liked another option, like fresh local fruit or cereal, instead of an egg each morning. I enjoyed Iquitos, but the hotel needs to provide better service and not shortchange paying guests. I worked hard for that money and expected better.

The WC didn't work. I've stayed here twice, and both times the room wasn't ready even though I arrived on time, so I had to wait an hour. They gave silly excuses each time.

Great value in a quieter part of Iquitos. The hotel has AC, a pool, and free breakfast. Fantastic place, highly recommended.

The standard room came with a plentiful breakfast, and everything was delicious and fresh. You could even go back for seconds. Staff were attentive, cleaned the room daily, and replied super quickly when I contacted them on WhatsApp. They have reception around the clock. The room included AC, a wardrobe, hot water, a small desk, and a TV. I highly recommend it.
