I accidentally left my headlamp in an apartment, and Monica kindly arranged to have it shipped back to me. I’m so grateful. She’s the best and speaks English fluently, and booking by email was easy. The room was clean and roomy, with a kitchen and small fridge. Restaurants and a market for water were within walking distance, and there was a good laundry service a block away.

Monica made me feel safe as a solo female traveler and was really helpful. She arranged airport pickup, took cash at check-in, and offered to store the things I didn’t need for the jungle while I stayed before and after a healing ceremony. It’s easy to walk from her hotel into the town center. Book early, it fills up fast. A lot of retreat centers recommend her because she speaks fluent English and is so accommodating to tourists. The rooms were clean, there’s air conditioning, and it’s good value.

I’ve stayed at Nativa Apartments four times over 10 years and would happily return. The plaza de armas is just a few minutes away, but the place is in a quieter part of town. Monica, her family, and the employees are incredibly friendly, and it feels more like home than a hotel. If you like cats and dogs, you’ll enjoy it even more. Mimics can offer plenty of advice and help with airport pickups.

I feel safe staying here as a solo female traveler, and it’s quiet and clean. The owners are wonderful and generous. She helped us call drivers and tuk-tuks, suggested shops and tours, and sells lovely jungle medicine and soap. There are cute dogs to spend time with too. I wouldn’t stay anywhere else in Iquitos.

Nativa Apartments Boutique Hotel felt like a home away from home. Monica was warm, friendly, chatty, and always ready to help. She speaks Spanish and English, and probably other languages too. The rooms were spacious, clean, and comfortable, with a nice kitchen and dining area and an en suite shower room. It was peaceful inside, while still just a short walk from the busy parts of Iquitos. Friends of mine staying at a Hilton Hotel liked Nativa’s space and comfort better, and took business cards so they could stay here next time. I’d highly recommend it, especially for female travelers. Thank you, Nativa!
