The excursions ran from early mornings before sunrise to night walks, and we packed a lot into three days and two nights. The open boat made the outings peaceful and immersive, and we saw an incredible variety of wildlife and birds without feeling disconnected from the jungle. Our guide Lisser, with Jason's support, was dedicated, knowledgeable, and respectful of the wildlife and environment. He worked hard to help us see animals without disturbing them. The staff made us feel safe and deeply immersed from the moment we arrived. I visited Yaku Lodge with my husband in December, and it was one of the most memorable trips we've taken. For its mid-range price among the lodge options, it was worth every penny, with a five-star level of service, comfort, and authenticity. Victor was a great help arranging the highly customizable trip in advance and accommodating my dietary restrictions. Chef Paulo's food was outstanding, beautifully presented and high quality, and felt like dining at a Michelin-star restaurant three times a day. All rooms face the river and were immaculately kept with daily housekeeping; mosquito nets and screens meant we had no issues at all. I also appreciated the lodge's care for the environment. Lisser picked up plastic bottles to leave the jungle better than we found it. Yaku is locally owned and employs people from the area, so it isn't a corporate operation and the money stays in the community. We felt deeply connected to the jungle and were treated with genuine care. I'd return in a heartbeat and recommend Yaku Lodge 100/100 to anyone seeking an immersive, ethical, beautifully run Amazon experience.

What a beautiful place, and the whole Yaku Lodge Team was amazing. The food out there was so good too! We had an absolutely peaceful time in the jungle and enjoyed ourselves so much. Thanks a lot, we can highly recommend it. Thanks!!

The meals and drinks were all great, and we really enjoyed everything served. We also loved spotting the pink dolphins. Victor, Jason, Bru Lee, and the rest of the team looked after us so well, which made the stay feel special. Our room was comfortable, and falling asleep to the Amazon sounds was lovely. The solar fan was a nice bonus. A little warmer shower water and having the lights on longer in the evening would have made things even better.

Even from my room window, I got to watch squirrel monkeys. I was traveling solo and had been unsure about heading into the Amazon jungle alone, but the Yaku team took great care of me. They collected me from my accommodation in Iquitos and dropped me at the airport, and the rooms and food were both good. My guide, Lisser, deserves a special mention. He could pick out birds and animals with incredible precision, knew where they usually rested, and had loads of knowledge about what we saw. He shaped the experience around what I wanted, and I came away very happy. 11/10, I’d recommend it to anyone.

The bungalow was beautiful, with a balcony looking out over the river, and having a chef at the lodge meant the food was excellent. It was just my friend and me, so we got plenty of attention from the guide and the people running the place. We had such a good time at Yaku lodge. The jungle walk, cayman spotting, and swimming in an Amazon river were all activities we really enjoyed. I’d have happily stayed a couple more days. Thanks, Victor, your team is great. Hope to see you again!
