We got a lot more than we expected for the price. The owners live there and really go out of their way with tips on places to eat, swim, and explore. They even phoned the bird refuge to arrange for someone to let us in.

The people working here are especially nice, and it's a nice hotel. Book one or two weeks ahead, though. If you don't, the price will be a little expensive.

Nothing fancy, but breakfast comes with the stay. It's clean, quiet, and the staff are friendly. The beach is a 15-minute walk away.

My kids loved staying at this lovely little hotel. It's quiet, family run, and the hosts were very accommodating. There's a great little pool, too.

Hotel Sacsay Mejia is a peaceful place to get away from Arequipa's busy streets. It's a few minutes' walk from the beach, the local fruit and vegetable market, and the historic city center. The lovely hosts go out of their way to make you feel at home, so you can relax and enjoy your stay.
