Casa Bella Boutique Hotel San Isidro

Michael was wonderful and went out of his way to help us in several ways. We stayed at a number of hotels in Peru, and this was easily the best, even though it wasn't the most convenient for walking to amenities. It's in a more affluent neighborhood, where the vehicles seemed better maintained, so there was much less noise and exhaust smell. The hotel itself was clean, quiet, and didn't smell. I'd stay here again if I were back in town.

The 3 AM arrival came after countless flight delays, and the front desk worked tirelessly to help me get to the hotel safely. Michael and Laeder were so welcoming, kind, and accommodating. That care made traveling feel comfortable and easy, like being at home. The rooms were clean, had basic amenities, and the WiFi worked reliably. The place is beautifully decorated and in a safe neighborhood, with restaurants in walking distance and affordable Ubers to other Lima attractions. Breakfast had fruit, bread, and eggs made to order. Coffee and tea were available anytime. I hope to come back.

Michael “always on” Azuaje made every complication feel easy to handle. When we needed medical care, he arranged a very competent house call for 200 soles/$55, and he took in and paid for deliveries when we weren't there. He also answered our many questions and arranged cars. We had trouble before the stay with a cancelled credit card, needed help during it, and extended our visit afterward without knowing how long we'd stay. Through it all, he made a smooth, healthy visit seem like the most important thing. Casa Bella is a comfortable, family-style hotel in a graceful, quiet neighborhood. It's fairly central to Lima's spread-out sights, including museums, the historic center, Huaca Pucllana, and restaurants in Miraflores and Barranca. Huaca Huallamarca is close enough to walk to. A+ hospitality.

The room was decent and the location was okay, though finding ants in the bed was unpleasant. What really bothered me was the taxi the front desk called for us. It was his friend’s service, and we were charged more than three times what it should have cost. Disappointing to see people take advantage of others.
