The room was spacious, gorgeous, and beautifully furnished, with a large, newly finished bathroom. The location was great, near the beach and several things to do, and they brought water when I ordered it by phone. But the street outside the bedroom was so noisy that it felt like sleeping at the curb, and the blackout curtains still let too much light in. We left for the airport without breakfast, which wasn’t being served at 7:05 am even though the stated time was 7 am. I also felt uncomfortable with how the staff treated me. At check-in, the attendant scrutinized each cash bill to check whether it was genuine. I understand verifying bills, but the way he did it was offensive. I’d stayed at four other hotels in Peru and hadn’t felt this way before. Then, at checkout, the attendant left the desk to inspect the bedroom instead of handling our checkout, making me uncomfortable again. For a boutique hotel, I expect a more considerate experience. These issues will definitely keep me from staying here again.

The location is decent, the staff try to help, Wi-Fi works well, and the rooms have A/C and hot water. English isn’t great, so Google Translate comes in handy. My friend and I booked separate rooms and shared one on the first night, so we saw three rooms in total. The floors were appallingly dirty, which was the main problem and the reason for my low rating. I told the staff, and someone came within 20 minutes, but after what seemed like a 60-second wipe with who knows what, they left. Since it still wasn’t clean, I spent another 20 minutes on my hands and knees wiping the floor with towels. My friend had to do the same in her room. I showed reception photos and gave them time to deal with it, but then they said management wanted me to pay for the towels because they couldn’t clean them enough to use again. I politely declined twice, and they didn’t press further. If clean floors aren’t a concern for you, the rooms are fine, but for what I paid per room, I expected a properly cleaned floor. The photos show the floors after multiple cleanings and are the exact ones I sent the staff.

My wife and I recently stayed at Hotel Equo in Miraflores, Lima, and the experience was disappointing. The room was uncomfortably cold because the heating system wasn’t working properly. The towels were quite worn, the shower leaked, and there was mold on the ceiling. These maintenance problems need attention so future guests can have a more comfortable, hygienic stay.

I don’t usually leave negative reviews, but the room was in really poor shape. Black mold appeared in several spots, the ceiling was literally coming down into the shower and bathtub, and housekeeping was poor at best. Such a shame.

The room was good, and so was the location, but the service was incredibly bad. We paid for the room in cash and were charged on our credit card as well. The staff's English was very poor. If you speak Spanish, it might work out, but otherwise I'd stay somewhere else.
