I stay in an apartment on the next block, but this family invited me into their home for a wonderful lunch on my first visit to Lima. That welcome made the experience feel really heartfelt. They’re my Lima neighbors now, and the property is family-owned. I’d take this true local experience over an overpriced modern high-rise any day. It feels special.

The service felt four-star, even though the accommodation itself was more like two-star. A married couple runs the place, and their young son brings a lively family atmosphere with his chatter. Guests can come and go on their own schedule as long as they follow the house rules. The metro is an easy walk away, and it’s handy for Barranco, Miraflores, Larcomar, and Parque Kennedy.

I had to chase him for days to get an official price and confirm a reservation after he first quoted me an amount. Then, right when I needed the room, he changed all the terms. The information was unclear from the start. Completely unprofessional.

Erik even offered to drive me where I needed to go, and everyone was incredibly kind and welcoming. It’s a lovely small hotel, with a simple, clean room. Breakfast was a treat: scrambled eggs, coffee, and fresh papaya and banana juice. I’d highly recommend staying here.

The photos online are worth comparing carefully with what you actually get. This place is a converted house with rooms, and I found it neglected, with basic hygiene and comfort falling short. People often say the owners are nice, but that’s not the service I’m paying for. I’d rather stay home with my family. I do not recommend it.
