I couldn’t get a proper night’s sleep here. The room had no real air conditioning, and the window wouldn’t shut or seal properly. Mosquitoes came in all night and kept biting me. The bed and sheets also seemed unclean, and I woke up covered in bites from bugs I couldn’t identify. I spent the next day scratching, and it was miserable. There was no mosquito protection or other way to deal with it. For a place that should provide basic comfort, this fell well short. I really wish I’d booked a proper hotel instead. If sleep and cleanliness matter to you, I wouldn’t recommend this hostel in Lima. Good luck staying awake all night.

The area felt tidy and safe, and the staff were friendly, but the room cleanliness was a letdown from the start. There was black stuff on the bed when I first walked in, and lots of tiny flies in it too. They bit me. One of the staff tried to help by spraying something to kill them, and she was kind about it, but the smell was overpowering and the bugs kept appearing.

Joel, the owner, is a sweetheart. We only stayed briefly, but he made us breakfast both mornings and helped with everything we needed. The prices are affordable, and this little hostel is worth staying at if you’re in the city. I’d definitely recommend it. One tip, skip Amazon tours. They’re not the best, and you can find better ones, long story.

This was the worst hostel I’ve stayed in during my eight-month trip. The price they charged when we arrived was much higher than the one online. When we asked, they said that was the only price available, but we found out the next day that wasn’t true. We asked to speak with the manager, and after that the staff treated us terribly. They were rude throughout and kept making comments about our behavior. They singled out the guests we had brought and kicked them out, even though other people were bringing friends too. The way they yelled at us was the most unprofessional behavior I’ve encountered on the whole trip. The rooms weren’t consistently cleaned, the bathrooms were filthy, and by nighttime there was no toilet paper, every day. There was never any hot water either. I don’t usually write reviews, but I felt I had to this time. If you’re in Lima, don’t stay here. Pay a few extra dollars and avoid this awful experience. I think the whole staff should be replaced, or the place should be shut down.

The location is very good, and the staff are friendly, but the charging situation was a problem. There were no outlets by the upper bunks in the dorms, and probably only three chargers for the whole room. The Wi-Fi didn’t work at all during my three-day stay. The staff kindly shared their hotspot, but it was still a big issue.
