Tierra Viva Miraflores Larco

The bar beside the hotel had loud parties Thursday through Saturday, which were the nights I stayed. Rooms next to it need double-glazed windows that close properly. Shame, because everything else about my stay was really nice.

The hotel was spotless, modern, roomy, and smelled lovely when we walked in. Breakfast was fantastic, with a buffet plus dishes you could order. The Wi-Fi, though, kept dropping and struggled when we tried to do more than one thing at a time. We got to Tierra Viva at ten in the morning after a ten-hour trip from Oregon, USA, with three planes, and my partner and I were exhausted. The staff welcomed us with free coffee and cookies, were patient with our broken Spanish, and let us check in a little early. We fell asleep right away.

The rooms were quiet and clean, and breakfast was wonderful. The staff made me feel welcome too. I had a great stay, and that's really all I could ask for.

I booked two nights here by mistake, since I meant to reserve Tierra Viva Miraflores Mendiburu. Within two minutes of confirming, I realized what I'd done, canceled, and contacted customer service right away to explain and ask for my money back. I waited more than half an hour to speak to someone, then was told the request had to be escalated because the representative couldn't handle it. The hotel later refused the refund. I was charged for a three-day booking even though I canceled almost immediately, and it felt like being robbed.
