Tupac Hostel - Lima Airport

My stay left me feeling unsafe and unsupported, and I wouldn’t recommend this hostel to anyone concerned about their belongings. My valuables disappeared from a locker, and the hostel didn’t take responsibility, even though it acknowledged its mistakes. I’d stored my things in a locker provided by the hostel and secured it with their own key. When I came back, the locker was still locked, but my belongings were gone. It later turned out the keys weren’t unique and could open other guests’ lockers, a major security flaw. The hostel has security cameras, but staff couldn’t retrieve footage from that day, so there was no way to clarify what happened. That was another serious failure in safety and accountability.

The neighborhood looks rough, but I felt safe there. The price was good value, and there’s a nice seafood restaurant a few doors away. I had a private, quieter room at the back of the hostel, away from the street noise. I’d stay again if I were just passing through. It’s nothing fancy, but clean and well kept for a hostel. The staff were friendly, the bed was comfortable, and my private bathroom was sufficient.

The breakfast was simple but really good, with avocado and banana. I arrived at 00.30 AM and got a warm welcome, then they showed me to a nice private ensuite. The room was spotless and quiet, and came with towels and a bar of soap. Loved it. The terrace was beautiful too.

Great value for what I paid, and I’d stay again if I needed to be near the airport for one night. The room was clean and a good size, but the area isn’t one of the best, and there’s absolutely nothing else of interest nearby. Breakfast was basic, and there was no hot water in the shower. Public transport is a shambles. I tried it during rush hour, big mistake, and wouldn’t recommend it then. 🤣🤣
