We still had a very relaxing holiday, and the pisco sour was excellent and packed a punch. The main pool was being cleaned for three days, though, which meant it couldn’t be used and the main sunbathing area was out of action. The food was priced at a premium but didn’t meet the mark, although there are lots of delicious restaurants in town. The hotel is on the good side of the fishing port, close to town but not too close. The beach in front was clean, and the rooms and pools were very nice with sea views. I was surprised to see a 25 soles room-service charge on the menu. The hotel is starting to age, and what some might kindly call rustic is getting shabby. For the price, it should be better.

We wanted to stay near Mancora without being in the town itself. A moto taxi takes about five minutes, or you can walk in 15. Our bungalow had an amazing view, the sunset was breathtaking, and the waves were peaceful to listen to. The security guards and Victor Jose, one of the waiters, went out of their way to make our stay better. The food and pisco sours were delicious, though the rooms could be cleaned better. There’s a kitty at the resort, so if you see him, give him some water, milk, or food.

The staff were nice and the service was good, but the food is expensive. The rooms need renovating.
