Tikawasi Valley Ollantaytambo

The staff were kind and helpful when we booked at the last minute, even though we hadn't planned to stay here. The room was neat and clean, and better than I expected for its star rating. It had everything we needed for a short visit.

Coming back after dinner was lovely, with the stone side street giving the place a nice feel. It was easy to reach and within a short walk of anything we needed. The room was about what I'd expect for the price, and breakfast suited us perfectly, simple with the staple foods I expected. The service was mostly fine, but I paid cash and they didn't have change. That wasn't a problem in itself, though I had to go after it later that evening when I realized they'd "forgotten" to give it to me. I also found ants in my backpack, but I'd left open snacks in a side pocket, so that's what happens.

The street was hard to find, nobody in town seemed to know where it was or which hostel we meant, but once there the location was actually quite convenient. It's a nice little hotel with a pleasant courtyard, friendly staff, and a good breakfast. There's no heating, though, and the nights get cold, so you'll definitely want a warm alpaca sweater.

The rooms open onto a small central courtyard, and the place has character despite being small. It's not a fancy hotel, but it's well situated in this interesting little town. Breakfast was good in the small dining room. We stayed just one night and wished we'd booked longer.
