Pisonay Hotel

We stayed for three days and never got hot water. No one came to check on it or offered another option. There was just one towel for two of us, stale cereal at breakfast, and no coffee or hot water until 8 or 8:30. If a warm shower or a morning coffee matters to you, I'd skip this place. It was way overpriced.

The rooms and bathrooms were quite clean, and it could work well for a two- or three-day visit. But there's no terrace or shared outdoor area, and some rooms have neither a balcony nor an outdoor view. Staying inside one of those rooms for long could feel suffocating. If you enjoy outdoor space, this probably won't suit you unless you only return to sleep.

I had dinner there once, and the food was tasty and nicely presented. The grounds and sitting area were pleasant, too. The Pisonay Hotel has good accommodations, and the breakfast buffet was very good. One note: if you don't want your room cleaned, just keep your key.

The front desk staff were nice and helped me get a taxi, and check-in was easy. The location is good and the hotel seems fairly new. But the room was tiny, sparse, and much smaller than the pictures suggested. The shower never got even lukewarm, and sound carried from everywhere, inside and outside. The beds are very firm, which isn't for me, though some people like that. The toilet seat didn't fit and seemed easy to slide off or break. Breakfast was basic. It covered the essentials, but wasn't comfortable, so we left a day early for Ollantaytambo. The photos make it look much better than it is.
