Hospedaje El Emperador

The rooms were fine, but ours was beside the laundry area and garage, and it was noisy. In one night, they ran a washing machine at 10 p.m., moved a car around at 10:30, and people talked loudly until midnight. We also got no service: no towels, toilet paper, soap, or shampoo, and the sheets weren't changed during our three-day stay. There were cockroaches too. By far the worst hostel we've stayed in in Peru, and such a disappointment. We were traveling with our dogs and knew there'd be an extra charge. A woman told us on the phone it would be a one-time fee of 20 soles. After a day, apparently the owner saw us and decided our dogs were too big, so we were told to pay the extra fee each day, half the room price. She even said no other hotel would take us with “these big dogs.” They weigh 25 kg. We felt she was taking advantage of our situation and going back on what had been agreed verbally. It seems a spoken agreement doesn't count for much in business in Peru.
