Hotel Enai

There’s nowhere to walk to from this hotel, it really is in the middle of nowhere. But the restaurant has great food, and tours leave straight from the hotel. Book your trips here rather than through a third party, so they can pick you up by boat or car. It’s a lovely jungle getaway. I wouldn’t stay more than three nights unless you’re happy spending lots of time drinking by the pool.

The only small issue we had was the slow shower drain. It would be a real plus if they improved it, though everything else was fine. We spent four nights here and booked our tours through the hotel. Being out in the forest made it easy to connect with nature, and each tour took us to different areas where we saw different animals. I’d recommend trying any of them. The food was great and there was enough variety that we didn’t get bored. Ritchie was especially attentive and friendly, and the reception staff were very helpful too. It was totally worth the money.

The views are incredible, and the rooms are clean, well cared for, and everything works, including the hot water. What made the stay for me, though, was how well the team worked together. CARLOS welcomed us and had everything feeling sorted right away. IKAR was reliable and proactive the whole time, so we never had to chase anything. TOSHIRO was quieter, but calm and respectful, and clearly helped keep things running smoothly. There was no confusion or anything falling through the cracks. The team take pride in what they do, and things are in very good hands here. I’d come back for sure.

The room had air conditioning and no bugs, which made a huge difference in the heat. It didn’t have many amenities, but it was comfortable, and the restaurant food was great. Service was smooth and attentive throughout, especially from Richard and Juvert. The guided tours cost a bit more, but they were absolutely worth it. Our guide, Manuel, spoke flawless English, had high quality gear, and took small groups, sometimes just us. The quality stood out compared with some outside tour groups. If you like birdwatching, don’t miss the Inkaterra canopy tour. We were lucky enough to see toucans!
