IKAM Riverview Amazon Lodge - Asociado Casa Andina

Yuri made our stay extra special. He’s patient, passionate, and knows so much about the local plants, wildlife, and area. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the food was amazing. We loved the peaceful setting, lovely rooms and views, and the great pool. I’d absolutely recommend staying here.

Be careful booking here. We reserved a room for our group three months ahead, then got told the night before, while we were on the plane, that the reservation had been canceled. They sent us to another lodge that could only be reached by a one-hour boat ride upriver. It had no A/C or pool, and there was no way to get to Puerto Maldonado. We met three other couples at that alternate lodge who’d had the same thing happen. One group hadn’t even been notified and only found out their booking was canceled when they arrived at Ikam. Completely unacceptable.

The night hike was a real thrill, and seeing the power of the Tambapato river was awesome. Yuri was our guide. He made us work hard, but it was worth every bit. We wanted to spend time in the Amazon forest, and this place worked out really well. Highly recommend it.

We spent six nights here and had something to do every day. The excursions were unbelievable, and I’m really going to miss Ceracha, the dog who lives at the lodge. It’s close enough to the city but still right in the jungle, with Wi-Fi, AC, electricity, great meals, and a nice pool for relaxing. Such a luxurious place to stay in the rainforest. We absolutely loved it!
