Camino Real Turistico

The staff were fantastic, and the rooms were very clean in a great location. We stayed for more than three days, including my wife's birthday. That night, the staff knocked on our door with a beautiful bouquet of roses. Breakfast was nice too. A++ for the team 😁

There are lots of shops, restaurants, and points of interest nearby, since the hotel is right where Lima Street's pedestrian area starts. It cost 5 soles to get there from the bus terminal. The rooms were comfortable and very clean, with plenty of comforters for the cold. I liked that they left us alone without housekeeping, since I prefer privacy. Breakfast wasn't my favorite, and there isn't much open nearby very early. They can book tours to Uros, Taquile, and other places. I'd recommend booking through the hotel, but confirm three times what tour you're getting, because there was confusion with mine. Overall, it was a pleasant stay.

There were no elevators, but the waiters and waitresses were friendly and helped us carry our big luggage upstairs. Breakfast had bread, jam, avocado, and some other fruit, but no protein. We stayed in a triple room, and the foam pad on the upper wall seemed meant to block outside noise. It didn't help on our night there: loud music played outside until about 11 PM, then stopped and we could sleep. I'm not sure if other rooms were as noisy.

The location is a plus: it's in the city center, about a five-minute walk to the main market and ten minutes to the nearest grocery store. Breakfast cost 10 soles, which was cheap and good. The room, though, was freezing with no heating, and a bulb was missing from the lamp. There was no hot water for the shower, the toilet struggled to flush, and the window had styrofoam in it.
