Hacienda Plaza de Armas

The restaurant was empty when we went at about 7:30 p.m., so there was no atmosphere, though the food itself was decent. Hot water also took 3-4 minutes to come through in the shower, which was inconvenient. The laundry charge was the worst part. We had two bags after seven days of travel, and the first employee said it would be 12 soles per bag. That wasn't true. They charged 12 soles per kilogram instead. Our clothes came to around 8 kilograms, costing 102 soles, more than our whole restaurant bill with drinks, a main course, and dessert. That rate is unreasonable, and the service felt like a tourist trap.

The shuttle from the bus terminal was too expensive, and the staff didn't seem very engaged. Still, the room was big enough, the bathroom was okay, and breakfast was good. The hotel is right at the Plaza de Armas.

Getting around was easy from here, with most sights and the port for boats on Titikaka lake within walking distance. The room was a good size and I slept well, though there were too many duvets for such warm weather. Breakfast was good, but the coffee could be better for European travellers. The front desk staff were excellent.

The rooms were comfortable, nicely decorated, and well equipped. Reception staff were nice, and the restaurant served good dishes. Breakfast was a pretty good buffet, available early enough to eat before scheduled activities. The hotel sits right on the Plaza de Armas, but construction on the square during our stay blocked the view and made a lot of noise.
