Armando arranged all our transfers and the rest of the stay really smoothly. He also told us about the islands’ history and his family’s past, which was fascinating. Staying on a floating island in Lake Titicaca was a one-of-a-kind experience, and our room was one of the nicest we’ve had.

Bring a book or a deck of cards and settle in to enjoy the quiet. The food was very good and filling, and Armando can arrange airport transport to the island and book trips around Lake Titicaca. His rooms are fantastic, with a breathtaking view, and the hospitality is the best. He’s made a real oasis on a floating island.

The boat trips were a highlight. Armando took us to another island to explain how the floating islands are built and what daily life there is like, then shared the Uros people’s history with real passion on his traditional boat. He speaks perfect English and looked after everything with so much warmth. We only had one night, which felt far too short. We were comfortable in the beautifully designed room, and the food was excellent and generous. Fresh tea, coffee, and water were always available. We arranged a late check-out on the spur of the moment, left our bags safely in a small hut, and relaxed on the lodge terrace until our return trip. A taxi from Plaza de Mayor to the boat had been organized for us, and Armando picked us up himself. Thank you to Armando and his family!

Armando and his family are lovely and really look after you. They even provide 7 blankets for the chilly morning. Dinner is fresh, though everyone gets the same meal. It’s a nice balance: you get to experience local life, then relax in your own room and take in the landscape. And oh, the dog is so cute!!!!! A must do!

Waking up to the lake was pure magic. The rooms are cozy and comfortable, and the cats and dog (Blue) were such sweet, friendly companions. The whole lodge feels peaceful and beautiful beside the calm waters of Lake Titicaca. Armando is kind and friendly, and knows so much about Uros culture and the floating islands. You can tell he puts a lot of care into everything. Staying at Uros Kay Pacha Lodge was one of the most memorable, unusual parts of my trip. If you’re after a warm, genuine stay on the Uros islands, I’d recommend it completely. It feels like a little piece of paradise! 🌿✨
