Andrew and his wife made us feel like part of the family. They were wonderful hosts, far better than we expected. We’ll definitely be back, and I highly recommend staying with them.

San Bartolo Sur is a quiet, friendly place away from Lima’s bustle, but still close enough to reach the city if needed. It’s a nice spot to unwind, with walks along the malecón leading into the town center, plus hotels, restaurants, and seasonal rentals to choose from. The distance from Lima isn’t great, though traffic can make the trip about 1:20hrs. The quickest way is the Panamericana Sur Highway (1S), with a toll of close to $2-USD each way. You can take the old toll-free Panamericana Sur through small towns instead, but expect the drive to take longer because of traffic.

Luce Parra del Riego really goes out of her way to make guests happy. The service was great, and the place felt cozy and is really close to the ocean. I’d happily return again and again.
