There’s lots of wildlife, beautiful gardens, a fresh pool, an outdoor bar, and friendly pets that live there. It’s also pet-friendly and inside a gated community, so it feels safe to walk around and explore. The hosts try to make sure you have what you need, especially if you tell them in advance. It’s the coziest, most charming place I’ve found in the area, about a two-hour drive from metropolitan Lima. A good place to spend a week or longer, whether you’re working from home or staying with family or friends. You can get close to nature and the “apus” (Incan mountain spirits), and the prices are very accessible for what’s offered.

Winter in Lima can be rough, so this made a great weekend break for some sun. It’s a cozy, wonderful stay in Santa Eulalia, with good service and amenities, including the pool. It’s on the route for popular birdwatching tours, which makes it a handy stop if you’re interested in those. I’ll be back!
