Casa de Clara

Clara was really kind and helpful. I love this place, and it's close to the city centre.

Mrs. Clarita was so kind and looked after us personally. She's also a knowledgeable guide, and gave us a private tour of Chan Chan, the largest mud-brick city in the world. She can prepare breakfast or whatever else you'd like on request, and she's a great cook. The place is in a quiet, comfortable, and safe area, with a lovely view across the park and just a few minutes' walk from the main square. Highly recommended. 🙂👍

The building is beautiful, but it seems poorly managed and needs someone with professional hotel experience involved. The sheets were dirty, the bathroom hadn't been cleaned and had "remnants" from previous guests, the water was cold, and the towels hadn't been changed. It's lacking in a lot of ways.

The only pleasant part was the cat wandering around. The facilities are basic for what they charge, not worth a single sol, and they don't provide towels or toilet paper unless you ask. The woman there was unbelievably unfriendly and unbearable, with no social skills, and wouldn't even give me a glass of water. If you're visiting Trujillo and plan to stay in without asking for anything or going out, maybe this hostel is for you. Otherwise, don't go. The service is terrible, I'd never recommend it, and honestly they should close the place.
