Taypikala Deluxe Valle Sagrado

The hotel itself is nice, but there isn’t anything around it. Getting back after leaving can be a real headache. Every time, Uber and taxi drivers accepted our ride request, then asked for more money once we were in the car, saying the hotel was so remote. We didn’t hear these complaints when leaving the hotel, only on the return trips. If you’re planning to visit urubamba town, eat at other restaurants, or go anywhere else outside the hotel, be prepared for this. The return journey can be stressful and may raise safety concerns.

We loved how peaceful Taypikala Hotel felt, tucked away by the river with mountains and flowers all around. It’s secluded, so there isn’t much to walk to, but we were happy staying on the grounds: there’s a restaurant, small store, pool, garden hammocks, and friendly llamas wandering about. Our room was spotless and roomy, with big windows facing the landscape. The grounds feel like a living museum, with lovely reproductions of sacred Inca sites. Staff were warm and helpful, and we appreciated the tea and cookies. Breakfast was fresh and delicious every morning. A lovely oasis in the Sacred Valley, and we were impressed from start to finish.

We spent five nights here and were comfortable the whole time. The grounds and amenities gave us plenty of places to wander and relax, and the rooms were spacious. The food was delicious and gourmet, too. Staff were friendly and ready to help with any request. If you get the chance to stay at this resort, go for it. We were very happy with our stay.

The restaurant was the one letdown for us: the menu felt limited, and the food didn’t seem quite at a five-star level. Aside from that, we had a really nice time at Taypikala. The accommodations were very good, and the property has a beautiful, relaxing atmosphere. We also loved the spa and the overall feel of the place. I’d recommend it for the experience and setting.
