The host made a big difference for us. He was so welcoming and friendly, helped organize what we needed, and made everything feel easy. The room was lovely and exceptionally clean, and you can see how much care goes into the property. We liked the convenient location, the fresh breakfast choices, and the excellent food overall. Room service was reliable and very good, too. It was a comfortable place to acclimatize before heading to higher-altitude destinations, and we felt well looked after throughout our two nights. We'd happily come back and recommend it to anyone wanting a comfortable, well-managed stay with great service.

The hotel is a useful base for visiting Sacred Valley sites, especially those covered by the local tourist ticket sold in Cusco. It's about a 40-minute drive from the train to Machu Picchu, and there are other restaurants within walking distance. We ate very well at one of them. The family-run property has a pleasant courtyard with fruit trees, herbs, and places to sit, and the owner or manager was responsive and accommodating. Our room was $50 a night with breakfast, a reasonable price. By US standards, the accommodation felt like an average Hampton Inn by a highway, though without a pool. There is a jacuzzi-style tub, which we didn't use. WiFi worked well. If you're driving, Yucay is a tiny town, and the side streets off the main road are narrow and often obstructed by parked cars. Street parking isn't advisable. The property has a small secure parking area or garage, but the owner has to lock and unlock it. Our room, 207, was noisy overnight because of roosters crowing from 1:30 AM to 7:30 AM, along with dogs howling and barking often during those hours. That noise was outside the property's control.

Getting to the sights was easy from this little village, and the hotel organized my transfer and all my travel during the stay. They even had a meal ready before I arrived. A special thanks to the staff and administrator for taking care of it all. The place was amazing, absolutely new and very clean, the best I saw among seven hotels in Peru. The restaurant was great too.
