Meili Beach Resort

A good little resort in Cebu, with a nice pool and a small beach for snorkeling. It’s not expensive, and they’re happy to help. There’s also an interesting little grotto to find. Recommended.

I had a spacious room and an exceptionally comfortable bed. The food was all made to order and excellent, and the service was second to none. I also had the privilege of sharing drinks with the owner and his father, who are wonderful people. The resort by the water was spectacular. Thanks, Sydney and Willam, for a wonderful stay. I hope to return in a couple of weeks.

The sea is great at high tide, and the horizon is spectacular. We loved our stay overall. The room was clean, and the staff were kind, reliable, and hard-working. The menu was poor, though. It makes no sense that they don’t serve seafood at all, and when something like Coke runs out, they don’t restock it. The place is remote, so you need a scooter to reach a supermarket or restaurant, about 1-2 kms away.

The rocky beach has a nice view, and walking around the cliff by the gazebo was relaxing. The resort has a large open area that looks good for team-building, plus a kids’ play area and a mini cave. That cave is so quiet it felt a bit creepy when we made noise. The road to the resort is steep, which could be tricky in the rain. We booked two garden-view rooms. They were huge, maybe too huge, and felt eerie at night. The bathrooms were spacious, and there was a small kitchen area with cooking utensils. The king-sized beds were comfortable, but the rooms still gave us spooky vibes after dark, almost like we were being watched. The stay was okay, but those nighttime feelings were unsettling.
