Danielas Place

I paid $23 CAD a night for two nights and was pleasantly surprised by the value. The place felt secure, and it's close to the airport, though the neighborhood is a little sketchy and there isn't much to do around there. The room had a large table, and they provided soap, several towels, and toilet paper. The aircon worked well, but it was loud enough that I needed the first night to get used to it. The bed was comfortable enough, and the shower kept its hot water. The staff got up at 2:30am so I could check out and get my damage deposit before my 5am flight. I enjoyed staying here.

I went with the fan-only room to keep the cost down, and got a simple stay with what I needed. Nothing fancy, but it felt worth the price. The ceiling fan clicked and didn't move enough air to cool the room at night. Apart from that, it was pleasant and practical.

The little flowers along the stairs to the second floor made Daniela’s place feel warm right away, and the bathroom bucket reminded me of the one we used at home as a kid to save water. The whole stay felt more like being in a house than a hotel, especially like my mother's home. When I needed directions into town, the owner went out of their way to help. The staff were just as kind and attentive, and made me feel like family. I haven't felt that much at home in a long time, and I'm grateful for it. If you want a personal, welcoming place with heart, Daniela’s place is special.

The owners invited us downstairs for a meal and a free drink on the last night of our stay, for the owner's birthday. That was a lovely surprise. Daniella's place is a hidden gem and great value. Our room was clean, had great aircon, and came with cooking facilities. The pool was clean and good for a swim anytime, and the staff were excellent. Give this hotel a try, it's excellent value.
