Hotel Snow Angeles

I’ve stayed here once before and booked again because it was good value, but the booking platform issue made this visit really unpleasant. I reserved and paid for two rooms for two nights through Agoda. On the second day, the front desk said their system showed only one room. They wanted me to pay again for the extra room, even though I’d already paid through Agoda, and said they’d refund me once Agoda paid them. They also wanted me to call Agoda to sort it out. Why should I, when I paid the full amount and had an Agoda confirmation receipt? It spoiled what otherwise would’ve been a pleasant weekend. To be fair, the front desk lady was kind, but management should handle a problem like this without involving a customer who already paid and showed proof at check-in. Now they have my government ID and won’t return it because I refuse to pay. I’m easy to please and don’t mind unexpected travel hassles, but this just doesn’t sit right with me. I hope they return my ID at their own expense, as they should.

The price was a bargain, and we appreciated being able to use amenities that other places don't offer. Our first room had a working everything except the TV remote. The attendant moved us to another room, where the TV worked, though the sound had static. The bathroom lights blinked when the shower was running, and there was no toilet seat cover, so a toddler could possibly fall in without someone watching. We didn't raise any more complaints. Those issues felt like part of what came with the price we paid.

The toilet was wet, the shower head was moldy, and what they called blankets felt like a very thin sheet. I also killed one roach as soon as I entered the room. Since I was on the ground floor, the KTV noise was another problem. Not sure how this place got such high ratings on Agoda and Google Maps.

The owners make a point of warning guests about hefty fees for breaking things or going against the rules. There are a couple of signs in the room and more around the lobby and pool. One says breaking glass by the pool costs about ₱100000, which seems outrageous for something that could happen by accident. The WiFi was also so poor it barely worked for checking email. For the price, the rooms are nice, with modern door locks and lighting, air conditioning, and friendly, attentive staff. The hotel is away from a main road, but right by where planes take off, and the mostly shipping container building doesn't block much sound. I'd recommend it if you're only staying in Angeles for a few nights.
