JW Apartments

The location is handy for Clark Freeport Zone, where most establishments are, and only a short drive from SM City Clark. There's limited parking inside the apartment, plus street parking set aside for guests. Staff were friendly, and the 24/7 security made us feel at ease. We got upgraded to a larger room with a kitchen and living room, and it was a restful place to stay. The fridge worked well, though we didn't use the small kitchen equipment. For the price, it was enough for a weekend when we mainly needed somewhere to sleep, and it's close to Clark International Airport. The upgrade came with some letdowns. Most of the living room lights were broken, and only the middle switch, for the kitchen light, worked. The provided lamp had no bulb, so we moved the bedroom lamp into the living room. The ceiling fan didn't work either, though there was another fan we could use. There were no toiletries except toilet paper, and the bath towel didn't dry us properly, which was uncomfortable. There was no toilet paper holder or towel rack. Even with the bigger room, the amenities were disappointing. I'd still say it's a good place to stay, but it needs some improvements to make future guests more comfortable.

I spent a month there. The price is lower than some of the bigger hotels nearby, though you have to be okay with pretty basic living.

The night guard made the place feel fairly safe, and JW apartments works well if you want a studio or one bedroom within walking distance of Angeles City Walking St. Walking Street takes about 10 to 15 minutes on foot, or you can save time by taking a tricycle to the main strip. Rooms have A/C, a safe, a queen bed, and a hot water shower. The one bedroom also has a full kitchen with a gas stove. There isn't cable TV, but each room has a Smart TV for Youtube or Netflix.

The road in is bumpy, and there aren't any local stores close by. Wifi also slows down at peak hours, though it gets faster from late afternoon through the night and until dawn. I would've liked hand soap or sanitizer, especially during a pandemic, and slippers would be nice too. Still, I got a bigger room than I expected after booking through an app with a discount, for less than Php 700. It was clean, big enough for a couple, and all the appliances worked, so it felt like good value. The staff were courteous and asked if I needed anything, though the room already had the small appliances and furniture. There was a large bed, two towels, clothes hangers, a little kitchen with utensils, and even a table and two chairs, which I don't often see at inns. It was a good stay, so I'm still giving it five stars.
