RedDoorz @ Downtown Bacolod

The staff were good and accommodating, but this was the worst RedDoorz hotel I’ve stayed in. The room was small, even whispers carried through the thin walls, the old light bulb needed replacing, and the comfort room was stained. The rooms need renovation. For this price, it’s definitely not a good deal. I can name better hotels or lodges in Bacolod for the same or less.

There’s a 7-11 beside the hotel. I’m generally pretty flexible, but the thin walls meant I could hear a lot of noise. The bedsheet was clean but faded and had cigarette burns, though the pillows were good. The door lock popped open when pushed, and the toilet wouldn’t flush.

We booked online because we just needed somewhere to crash at 10 p.m. The room was huge, and the service was good. They provided four water bottles, soap, shampoo, a toothbrush and toothpaste, and towels. The bathroom hadn’t been cleaned well; it needed a good scrub or a muriatic acid soak. The faucet water wasn’t clear. Maybe it was rust from old pipes, but that’s just my speculation. The chair was old too, and the room clearly needs updating.

For less than P600, it came with complete amenities: a CR, TV with lots of channels, and, my favorite, a half-body mirror. They also gave us bottled water, tissue, and soap. The room and CR were spacious, but it wasn’t 100% clean for me. It was old and didn’t look like the pictures I’d seen. The location felt unsafe, especially for someone alone. It’s in a somewhat secluded, dark place, and I get scared going back late at night. Downtown is around a 10-minute walk.
