The pool access from our Deluxe Swim-Up room was fine, and the kids enjoyed the stay, but it wasn’t worth Php 11,500 a night for us. The swim-up rooms all share pool access, so there’s no exclusivity. The bathroom drain smelled foul, a problem other reviews had already mentioned, and it seems the pipes still haven’t been fixed. The ceilings were incomplete too. The pool and beach areas were okay, though some music in the common areas would add ambience. There’s a kids’ playroom and a gym on the 3rd floor, but the machines and weights were rusty and clearly not maintained, despite the “modern equipment” description. Staff were attentive, but during peak periods like New Year, room cleaning may be delayed because they’re understaffed. The in-house restaurant mostly serves Chinese food, which was pretty okay, but you’ll need to eat out if that cuisine isn’t for you. Breakfast choices were limited, and there were insects in the rooms. Don’t be fooled by the pictures. We stayed 3D/2N, and the experience was generally bearable.

Our event at Hudor Resort in Bauang, La Union went very well overall. The grounds were spotless, our room was clean and comfortable, and the staff were warm, friendly, and accommodating. We had a beachfront room and slept well with the AC off, with the sea breeze at night. It’s a few kilometers from San Juan and San Fernando, where most tourist spots are, but getting around is manageable. A tricycle costs around ₱300 for four people, or you can take a cheaper jeepney or bus. There aren’t convenience stores nearby, so stock up before checking in. One part of the event was disappointing. I asked for a ham sandwich without ham because of dietary and religious restrictions, and staff happily agreed. After a few bites, though, I found small bits of ham inside. It seemed they had just removed the ham from a regular sandwich instead of making a separate one. I raised it with the organizers afterward. The place is good and the staff are kind, but dietary and religious needs should be handled more carefully. I hope they improve their food handling.

We booked on a whim after spotting an Agoda sale and didn’t realize there were swim-up rooms and villas. We got the premium, which was the standard and cheapest room. It had no view, but there were nice places to sit around the hotel with a view. The bed was super comfy, the shower temperature and pressure were great, and the food was good. The buffet wasn’t anything special, but it suited the hotel’s price point. I loved the little touches, like the provided slippers, hats on the letters at the concierge, polite bellboys, a parking lot that didn’t get too hot, and a cat roaming around. The guards also kept solicitors away, which was so appreciated. There’s a playroom we didn’t visit and a karaoke room. Room massages cost 1000 for one hour of therapy or 1500 for hot stone or ventora for 1 hour 15 minutes. There’s no prenatal massage. A few things could be better: the bath towels were small, there were no hand towels, and the TV wasn’t smart. The bathroom sink faucet only had five holes, so the water pressure was strong and painful. Kids kept playing with their room doorbells, and we could hear them throughout our stay. Still, we loved the place and will definitely be back.

The ocean views are stunning, and the pool was very nice, but the resort is in disarray with a lot of repairs underway. Our room wasn’t clean, the AC was very weak, and the shower leaked beneath the sink. We had to use one of our towels to keep things safe for my wife to use her hair dryer. The staff were superb, always smiling, which is why I gave two stars. I hope they handle the repairs well, because the place has real potential.

We stayed for one night in May 2025. The service was excellent and our room was clean. A high chair would be very helpful for families traveling with a baby or toddler. I hope someone sees this, as we plan to come back this year.
