Sky Hotel Pampanga

The sheets had makeup and other stains and smelled like smoke, despite the room signs saying no smoking. We asked for fresh ones before bed around midnight, but were told we’d have to wait until 9 am. Another staff member told someone in our party the stain was nothing and they wouldn’t replace the sheet. Staff had to call their boss just to get new ones. We were alarmed to learn the hotel has set cleaning hours, so a room used from 1 am to 4 am might be given to the next guest without being cleaned. We felt so uncomfortable that we left early and moved elsewhere. This is an hourly or drive-in hotel, which explains the “check in any time, no reservations needed” message. For an overnight stay, there are a lot of inconveniences. Each suite has a garage door that won’t close from inside, so you have to ask staff to shut it. We weren’t given keys at check-in and had to go downstairs to get them so we could lock our room. There are hardly any mirrors, no windows except a fire escape, and no mini fridge. You have to ask for a remote to control the AC, climb stairs to reach the suite, and make do with a blanket as thin as a sheet. To get Wi-Fi, you have to find the network showing on your phone in the suite and ask staff for its password. The hotel is far from conveniences, and it was hard to get a Grab to somewhere useful. I wouldn’t recommend it for a comfortable overnight stay or a visit of 1+ nights in the Bacolor area.

We asked at arrival whether they offered a PWD card discount, and the attendant said they did. When it was time to pay, we found out they wouldn’t take credit cards, even though that was our main payment option. The cashier said we could use gcash or cash, so we got our phone ready to pay through gcash. Then they said they only accepted cash and wouldn’t honor a PWD discount. Such a disappointment. They should have told us when we first asked instead of wasting our time.

The rooms are spacious and elegant, and the hotel is clean and well cared for. The AC gets very cold, which was just right for the summer, and the staff were friendly. There’s plenty of parking and the prices are reasonable. Some guests have mentioned there’s no wardrobe. Sky Hotel Pampanga seems like a great, relaxing staycation spot for family or friends.

My Filipina wife and I stayed at Sky Hotel Pampanga for three weeks in January 2024. It was less than a 25 minute jipney ride from her family’s house. We were very happy there. The staff addressed everything during our stay, including customer service and food. The rooms were clean, and the internet, television, and showers were awesome. We’ll more than likely stay at Sky Hotel in Pampanga again when we visit.
