Soleo Inn

If you’re driving and need to get some work done on vacation, this place is really convenient. The rooms are large, clean, simple, and practical, with quiet surroundings and exclusive basement parking. It’s a bit away from the tourist spots, but having parking, wifi, a 24 hour store, laundry, and pasalubong shopping close by makes that easier to live with. There’s a good restaurant in the hotel, plus a 711, a pizza place with great halo halo, and laundry in the same building. Across the road are a gas station and gym. There’s also a great bakery nearby, an autoshop, and a pasalubong center. Basically, you’ve got what you need close at hand. Awesome place!

It can be hard to get a taxi from the hotel sometimes, but otherwise we had a good stay. The room and lobby are spacious, the beds are nice, and the wifi worked well. There’s Netflix and Cable TV too. Nearby are 7/11, merrymart, laundry, a pharmacy, and a few restaurants. There’s no credit card option, even for online bookings. You can pay through GCash, bank transfer, or cash.

The night shift receptionist was great, and it was impressive that they spoke some German. We were first put in a family room because the double rooms were booked, but the next day they let us switch to a less expensive double room for 2150 PHP a night. That bed was much more comfortable than the family room mattress. The bathrooms were good, especially the large shower and water heater. There’s also a water dispenser in the hallway, and the TV has Netflix and Android TV. The rooms have no AC, though. The halls stayed cool but our room got rather warm, even with the windows open. A fridge and maybe a microwave would have been welcome. The power outage was handled badly. The hotel had a generator but couldn't get it running because of a cabling issue, so we had no power. They gave us a nightlight, but it stopped working after a day. The outage went on for more than two days, and they didn’t get anyone to fix the generator during that time. When I asked for a discount, they offered 10%, but somehow charged us only 5% off the bill. I pointed it out at checkout, and they corrected it and returned the difference. It was annoying to have to catch that, but they did make it right. For the price, the stay was still pretty decent.

We booked the Family Room for June 4-6. The room was roomy and had a modern look, and the beds were big and comfortable. I liked having a 7-11 on the ground floor. I do wish there had been a fan, refrigerator, and microwave.
