Mirage Suites de Boracay

When we arrived, the hotel said our Agoda booking had been cancelled and offered no help. They then tried to sell us a different room for more money. Agoda later confirmed this was a common scam the hotel pulled on guests to make more money. The location was inconvenient too. Dishonest and unprofessional, never again.

The street to the hotel and beach had puddles and mud, and opening the door with the keys was a struggle since the keycard didn't work as a key. The electricity also cut out at night, which is normal in Boracay, though it came back after a few minutes. Still, our budget felt well spent. The room was clean, with a working bathroom, hair dryer, hot and cold water, and a bidet. Internet was reliable, handy for working in Boracay, and the staff were nice and helpful. They even brought utensils when we ate dinner in the lobby. White Beach is about three minutes away, so it was great value for money. One bathroom light kept blinking.

The hotel is just steps from Henann Palm Beach Resort, where we arranged our ride to the airport. We ended up staying here for our last night after a flight disruption led to our booking at Henann Palm Beach Resort being cancelled. The hotel offered us a 50% discount, so we paid PHP 1,700, a rate that wasn't available online. For that price, the stay was decent. The room had air conditioning, a refrigerator, hot shower, keybox, and complete toiletries. There were no slippers, but that wasn't a big deal for us. We were first given a room on the 3rd floor, and the lack of an elevator made it a bit difficult. After an early check-out, the staff kindly moved us to a 1st-floor room. They were friendly and accommodating, and the hotel is pet-friendly, which is a big plus if you're traveling with pets. A cost-friendly, decent option with good value for the money.

They said our Agoda booking was “cancelled” when we checked in, then tried to charge us more for another room. There was no apology or solution. Agoda told us this wasn't an isolated case and that the hotel had a pattern of cheating guests for profit. The location was terrible, but that was the least of our problems. Greedy and shameless. They don't care about customers, only scamming them. Stay far away.
