I've stayed at Jamjen's Lodge twice now, though this is my first review. Comparing 2014 with 2025, there's been good development, but also things that seem neglected. The staff and owners are warm and friendly, and the free budget breakfast and reasonably priced tours around Baler are nice perks. The location is handy, with Baler Beach only a few meters away, cafes, restaurants, and stores nearby, and a public tricycle waiting area close by too. Still, the rooms feel aged, and the rates don't seem worth what you get. The aircon takes a while to cool the room, and free Wi-Fi coverage is limited and depends on which room you're in. I'd say it's worth a one-time stay, since there are other good options besides this lodge.

Getting around was easy for me because I used their local trikes. The drivers often double as tour guides and can take you to Baler's main spots, and I didn't have to search for parking. The parking there is safe, too. The beachfront is just across the road, with plenty of food and coffee places to try. For me, it's a quiet, clean, very affordable place to crash, and the location is spot on.

We chose this place for our honeymoon and had a superb stay. The owner and staff were polite and so accommodating, and the rooms and grounds were neat and clean. I'd love to return if I get the chance. 🥰🥰 (Photo taken by their staff.)

The beach is only seconds away on foot. The owner also runs a carinderia where you can get food and beer, and was very accommodating. One of my good experiences in Baler.

The staff were very accommodating and ready to help with any concerns. They do have a pool, though it was sandy when we visited. They said the pump was having a problem. There was no heater, either.
