Ysraela Lodging House - Sabang

It was peaceful and quiet, apart from the rooster next door, which mostly called around sunrise and made for a decent wake-up. The beach is about a five-minute walk. Our room had AC, but there was no refrigerator in the room or shared kitchen, and the shower had no hot water. The blankets smelled odd, though they gladly replaced them.

The rooms are basic and could use some renovation. The window-type AC was quite noisy. Still, I loved the friendly owners and fellow guests, and they have a great kitchen. They were always happy to share food with us. The surroundings are quiet, and one of the village’s best restaurants is next door. A solid 5/5. I’d recommend it to foreigners who don’t have the highest standards and are interested in cooking for themselves.

The market food was the best I’d had so far, and we found blue marlin and blue crabs surprisingly cheap at 280 pesos per kilo. The people at Ysraela were very accommodating. We cooked three dishes there and shared some with the staff. Please help the local tourism industry recover after almost two years out of business.

It’s clean and safe, and most restaurants and other resorts are within walking distance. The Wi-Fi is fast, but there’s no water heater.
