The staff were fantastic, always ready to help, and service was extra fast. When we asked for water to be brought to the room, it usually arrived in under 10 minutes. The room was comfortable and very good, though the furniture looked a little old. The several pools are lovely, with one warmer and another colder, which I thought was a great feature. The tennis court and gym were nice extras too. Food at the restaurant could use improvement, as other reviews have said. For a country like the Philippines, it was disappointing that the breakfast buffet offered only one or two kinds of fresh fruit.

The private beach is lovely, and there's also a private cave you can swim in. Renovations are underway, but they weren't intrusive and seemed needed based on some reviews. Service was excellent, though in the Philippines you generally have to ask for what you want. As a newcomer, I've learned that's just how it works. From my experience elsewhere in Asia, this resort could pass for four-star. Breakfast wasn't great, but don't expect a full English breakfast. That seems to be how it is in Asia.

The sea-view room was great, with lots of space and a lovely terrace view. Rooms in the second row were smelly and a downgrade in every detail, and neither room had a flyscreen. Room service was great and brought everything to the room. The breakfast buffet was good, but not excellent. Snorkeling out front was fine if you dare swim beyond the buoys through the seagrass. The short trip to the marine sanctuary is definitely worthwhile. They also have a private cave you can swim in alone. I was alone both times, and snorkeling in it with a torch was impressive because it's really deep.

The resort has an amazing location, a private beach, and a fantastic view. It might be perfect for a wealthy family. It's much too big for my taste, with too many kids and famous people, yet it's still very quiet!

The one thing I can praise is the kind staff, and the room itself was quite good. Even so, the stay was unpleasant. Although the hotel was nearly empty, they put me directly in front of active construction. The noise ruined every chance of a peaceful morning's sleep or an afternoon nap, and half the property is being renovated. The spa prices are outrageously high, and meals took nearly an hour to arrive. They promote a lovely hotel with a beach, but the place is ugly and the beach lies down a cliff. It's tiny and disappointing. Of the two pools, one was out of service. My sheets smelled damp. Housekeeping left a used coffee cup behind, yet threw away all my shopping tickets, which I needed.
