Punta Riviera Resort Bolinao

The beachfront location is perfect, but the building seems neglected and run down. The toilet and shower curtain were dirty, and the room smelled musty and unpleasant. We weren't given towels or blankets. For such an expensive room, I expected more. The food was somewhat pricey and didn't seem special. Check before booking.

The beach was beautiful and suitable for kids, but the hotel itself was in poor shape. Our room was dirty, the curtains dusty, and the TV didn't work. There were spider webs and mold in the washroom, and the shower was so outdated that we bathed with a bucket and dipper. Faucet water tasted salty, and many advertised amenities weren't available. Very disappointing, and I wouldn't recommend it.

There's lots of space for groups, and plenty to do, including karaoke, volleyball, a pool table, and other amenities. We bought pampano and other fish at the market, and the restaurant cooked them for us; they turned out great. The staff were welcoming, and our room was very clean. The beach was a little rocky, though I couldn't tell if that's typical or just how it was that day. The water starts out below knee level, so you have to walk a long way to reach swimming depth. We missed the obstacle pool at the back because it was scheduled for maintenance during our visit. Even so, it's a beautiful, enjoyable place.

Kayaking was the highlight of our 3-day, 2-night trip with my wife and kids. Getting out on the water and taking in the scenery was so much fun, and the sunset was breathtaking, with the sky turning warm colors. The whole resort felt relaxing, and the staff were polite and helpful. They made me feel welcome as soon as I arrived. A memorable vacation with a nice mix of adventure and downtime.
