Cool Stay Inn

We spent three weeks here. There was plenty of painting, remodeling and repair work going on during our stay. The weather was poor, and we spent a week recovering from a bad cold, so we were in the room more than usual. Even so, the hotel staff and the man who brought breakfast to our room every morning were top notch. Whenever we asked for something, they were quick to help. The bed was comfortable, and we’d definitely stay again.

This was one of the cheaper places we found nearby. The rooms were spacious and nice, but the first one we were given had a horrible bathroom smell, like strong bleach or another cleaning product. The sheets were stained, and cleanliness overall was acceptable but not great. Our second room was much nicer, so it may depend on which room you get. The staff were very nice and accommodating, and really tried to make sure we enjoyed our stay. It was about a 10-minute walk to White Beach, which was no problem since the whole island is walkable.

A nice place to stay for a good price. The nearby church is a shame, though, since it makes noise every day at 5am.

The kitchen utensils were dirty, the sheets smelled, and I found someone else's hair in the bed the first time I got in. We were even left without towels because a replacement supposedly costs 40 pesos. Manager Bass wasn't flexible or helpful when we tried to sort things out, and seemed focused on getting more money under the excuse that this is a low-budget hotel. The only plus is being near the sea, which you can find in plenty of other places. I won't come back or recommend it to friends, maybe only to people I hate.
